Luke Chen is a designer who was born in China in 1991. His studio work explores how essential forms can deliver active and passive communication in the semantic field. Luke Chen grew up in Shanghai, China, and attended Shanghai University of Engineering Science for Art and Design. During his undergraduate years, Luke Chen took an internship at an architecture and interior design company for three years, where he gained experience in both the creative and business side of the industry. After receiving his BA in 2014, he went to the United States and studied at Cranbrook Academy of Art (3D department), where he furthered his research on the object and space. He received his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in May 2016.
